Formula E race in Berlin!

With our Facebook sweepstakes at the beginning of May, ITK staff also had a chance this year to win a trip to the Formula E event in Berlin! Two people were drawn for three trips to the former airport grounds of Berlin Templehof to see the electric cars race on 25 May. In order to become one of the lucky winners, we asked participants to comment on the following question: “Who will win the Formula E race on 11 May in Monaco?”

Naturally in this case, one needs not only to have the right feeling but also a bit of luck … J A total of 318 responses were sent back and, of them, the majority saw Lucas di Grassi of Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler in first place. The Monaco ePrix decided on Jean-Eric Vergne, however, the acting world champion. Some others also placed their bets on him. We then drew names from all the correctly answered submissions and sent the three winners including accompaniment to Berlin.  The home race was then in fact topped off with a victory from Lucas di Grassi! So not only did the three raffle winners and their accompaniment have something to celebrate there, but also our ITK colleagues who, despite little luck with the sweepstakes, travelled on their own to Berlin. As a technical partner, we are proud to have helped Team Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler again this year with their victory at the home race. Last year with driver Daniel Abt and this year with Lucas di Grassi.

The rest of the season is still reason to be excited: Di Grassi, winner of 2017, is positioned at the moment in second place in the driver statistics, just a few points behind Jean-Eric Vergne from Team Techeetah. In the team evaluation, Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler stands also just a few points behind this team. 10 of the total 13 races have already taken place: From the debut on 15 December 2018 in Saudi Arabia, to Marocco, South America, and China, all the way to the Europe race in Rome, Paris, Monaco and Berlin. After 22 June, the last Europe race in Bern, the two final races will be held on 13 and 14 July in New York City.

We wish the teams good luck and look forward to the last three action-packed races!
