A visit to the Lake Constance Hackathon.

What do you need for an awesome hackathon? Exactly! A cool location and an exciting assignment. This is exactly what the first international Lake Constance Hackathon “Umma Hüsla 2018” has achieved. From the 4th to the 5th of May, this took place under the motto “Ship IT” on the MS Vorarlberg.

The 28-hour event was initiated and funded by the “Platform for Digital Initiatives” and the partners of the “Bodensee Mittelstand 4.0” project. Around 200 hackers have registered for this unique event this year.

It quickly became clear – we couldn’t miss it – True to the Hackathon motto “Ship IT”, our colleagues Marcus and Thomas from Friedrichshafen made it their task to analyze the queue of one of the ferry connections on Lake Constance.

Along with the hackathon tasks, there was of course also enough time to exchange ideas with the other participants, to drink a cold drink or two and to enjoy the view.

With this spirit “Ahoi, Mateys and until next time!
